Cell phones and land lines to go IP based:
In the next 5 years all phones including land lines will start transitioning to VoIP.  Keep
the connection open all the time (no need to hang up!).  Pay a flat monthly fee and call as
much as you like.  Video-on-Demand will be part of this, along with cable TV and Internet.

Here's how we are helping you get ready for this:
Aculab's Prosody X natively supports IP, E1/T1, SS7, Voice, Video as well as all the
normal CT card features like Voice Recognition and Conferencing.  It is the most
practical way to make IP and TDM and SS7 etc. all work together.  You need the
flexibility as the future direction is not yet known.  Other products are not even close.

IP-based PBXs and extensions:  Asterisk / Digium:
This is a IP based open-source software (free at www.asterisk.org) running on Linux.
To connect to phone lines you can use Digium cards.  Extensions / Agents can be soft
phones or IP Phones or IP headsets.  Or, you can use Digium's FXS hardware which
connects to normal phones as extensions.  Typical uses are IP-PBX, Call Center,
